On the soap, All My Children, what happened with Kendall and the car accident/snow storm?

She was talking about her 2 sons. I am sure they will be saved, after all it is a Soap. lol I think they showed them helping out that aunt just tp show them as being kind. Of course, if they wouldn't have given up the car they would've had one that was equipped for snow and then they wouldn't have had an accident..
