Silk Wrap Question !!!?

When doing a silk wrap can a hand held blow dryer be used?? I dont have a hooded dryer, but I curled my hair and would like to make it straight..So after wrapping my hair with saran wrap would it be okay to use a hand held blowdryer to smooth/straighten the hair...Or will this just melt the plastic...is it safe?? anyone tried this?? (before I do)
