Abdominal Pain, should we be worried?

I spoke with my ex-husband and he told me his mother has been having terrible abdominal pain, he took her to the doctor and they have no idea whats wrong with her. Im not trying to worry but I do remember she had a colonoscopy test done about a year ago. They found small tumors and burned them off, so could this have something to do with it? and why haven they checked her history, she has had close calls with doctors believing she could have had cancer.
